Well, if you've been reading my blog then you know the ups and downs I'm going through being a new mom! Today, on Ruthie's 3 week birthday! we may have made a break through...I'm a little trepidatious at blogging this in fear I may "jinks" myself!
This morning as I noticed she was getting tired, I put her in her crib (with her paccy and her swaddle blanket) at 11:15. She was quiet for about 10 minutes and then erupted with crying. After about 5-7 minutes of crying I went in and reinserted the paccy and patted her tummy and stroked her forehead to calm her down (never picking her up!). I spoke words of love and clam to her and then walked out. She hasn't made a peep yet...and it's 12:!5!!!
Now I just have to keep this going and work on getting this to happen in the evening! :)

Yay!!
Small victories!
Keep on keeping on, friend!
Consistency is the key, my friend. You are doing great. Keep it up and you will reap the benefits very soon!
Show her who's the boss!
Hey Teresa,
I would love to talk with you...call when you have a chance.
Would also like to come visit and see that beautiful baby.
Kim
I'm so proud of you, Teresa. I've not had the opportunity to read 'Cup of T' for the past week. It's been fun catching up. Your honesty is admirable! Wish all new mom's could read the experiences you've had the first 3 weeks. Just when you conquer one thing something else will rise up - it's all a part of motherhood. Even now with 2 in their 20's - new stuff is rising up...serious relationships, future weddings... There's never a dull moment and after 26 years of parenting - it continues to be my favorite job in the world - not the easiest though. You're doing marvelous - stay strong in HIS strength.
Much love,
Dawnee
